Troubleshooting:

1) Leaking occurs at the internal o-ring which produces water coming out around the trigger. This is a sign cleaning or o-ring replacement is needed. To clean the nozzle of periodic mineral build up, immerse the trigger end of the nozzle in a glass of vinegar overnight. Rinse and test nozzle. If the problem persists, soak again and/or replace the internal O-ring. To access the O-ring, unscrew the brass hexagon bolt at the bottom of the nozzle. The plunger and spring assembly will come out revealing the o-ring. Replace the O-ring or other worn parts and reassemble. A nozzle repair kit with the most common replacement parts is available.

2) Leaking occurs at the connection to the garden hose. This is a sign the hose end is not sealing tightly against the rubber washer. Inspect the nozzle inlet to ensure the rubber washer (large O-ring) is in place. Replace if needed. If the rubber washer appears fine, check the male threads on the garden hose. They should be round and fully formed, free of any dents or cracks and not oblong from being driven over by a car. Some garden hoses have stamped brass ends in which the threads are shallow or not fully formed or easily bent out of round shape. In these cases it is not always possible to make a tight seal or the threads strip or the nozzle pops of unexpectedly. If you believe this is the cause, it is recommended to purchase a replacement male hose end connector at your hardware or farm store. Most replacement ends are molded plastic or cast metal with good quality threads.

Care and Maintenance Tips:

The nozzles will provide years of use with routine maintenance. The frequency of maintenance will depend on the type and quality of your water. If you are on well water with high mineral content, you can expect more frequent maintenance.
